JOB REQUISITION. Technical Accounting and Policy Senior Manager. LOCATION. SAN RAMON. JOB DESCRIPTION. Robert Half is seeking a Technical Accounting and Policy Senior Manager. This role is an individual contributor role designed to support the Finance & Accounting leadership team. This role is responsible for proactively remaining abreast of all GAAP and SEC developments relevant to the Company's financial reporting. This role collaborates with RH process owners to analyze technical accounting issues, develop and implement accounting policy, and provide subject matter expertise to support business owners with accounting issues in compliance with US GAAP. Responsibilities include leveraging internal/external partnerships to drive the vision and implementation of accounting policy initiatives worldwide in Finance and Accounting. This role will require expert understanding and significant experience with US GAAP and SEC/PCAOB regulations and serves as the subject matter expert in these areas. Specific responsibilities include: Maintains expert understanding and monitors, reviews, researches and interprets GAAP and analyzes emerging accounting pronouncements for policy/financial statement implications. Acts as single point of contact for enterprise expertise with respect to changes to the regulatory environment including both broad and targeted communications out to impacted global Finance, Legal and IT teams. Has primary oversight of potential change management impacts and coordinate amongst global Directors as appropriate to mitigate identified risks. Owns the big picture and connects the dots on technical accounting issues and policy impacts. Read and review all regulatory filings for consistency and accuracy. Owns the global accounting policy manual and related maintenance process (drafting, reviewing, updating). Researches accounting guidance and writes technical accounting memos that analyze and interpret business impact, provide guidance, and conclusions on steps forward for significant and/or unusual transactions. Provides direction and guidance to the accounting organization that ensure all activities are recorded and reported in compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies. Serves as the subject matter expert on technical accounting matters. Analyze complex accounting issues, interpret operational needs, and recommend solutions. Participate in decision making with process owners, provide meaningful insights, and seek to understand the broader impact of current decisions. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to management, including interpreting data and presenting to management, including interpreting data and presenting to senior management up to and including the CEO. Determine what information is relevant to the decision support request and ensure that information is gathered timely and consistently. Leads the adoption and implementation of new business, accounting, and financial reporting processes with the assistance of relevant business owners. Participates in or leads special projects related to technical accounting matters for the organization. Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager's discretion. At the direction of the Accounting leadership, leads coordinating Finance organization training programs related to accounting updates, including but not limited to, engagement with external and internal auditors, the AICPA and other outside training organizations. Assess the impact of new GAAP and SEC pronouncements and ensure compliance with the relevant financial reporting standards. Provide periodic updates to global Finance leadership on the results thereof. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science and/or Business degree in Accounting or Finance, or other finance related degree. 6+ years Big 4 public accounting experience or 10+ years without Big 4. Public accounting experience required. Expert knowledge of US GAAP, SOX control requirement, control review and audit techniques. MS Office, including Intermediate/Advanced skills in Excel.
