Job description
Scope of Position
Reporting to the Founder and the Board while working with the Head of Operations, VP of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial and administrative matters of the company and reporting on them in a timely and accurate fashion.
Functional Tasks
• Contributing to the development and implementation of the Company's operational plan and strategic business plan with the executive management team.
• Contributing to the overall management of the firm, as part of the senior management team
• Acting as the business partner for the founder in providing financial guidance and counsel on all major strategic issues
• Ensuring accurate reporting on the Company's financials (i.e. P/L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, etc.) to the CEO and the executive management team.
• Working with the Head of Ops on relevant Key Performance Indicators and metrics and ensure that the operational and technology processes are in place to provide timely and accurate information.
• Overseeing and managing the accounting, hedging, tax, insurance, audit, budget, and credit and treasury functions.
• Managing the company's cash flows.
• Providing leadership, guidance and mentorship to the finance staff in the organization.
• Leading the budgeting and auditing processes for the company.
• Ensuring that the financial practices and processes of the organization are extremely efficient and above reproach.
• Providing the primary financial interface in support of the Founder to banking institutions and other outside interested parties, relating to the Company's finances and its financial investment activities.
• Serving as a champion for operational excellence and the maximizing of value creation.
• Leveraging a detailed understanding of 'what's driving the numbers' to act as a key strategic and operational contributor to the overall growth of the business.
• Remains informed about the business, puts measurements and reporting dashboards into place enabling real time assessment of performance and 'what's over the horizon'.

• Advise the founder, Board of Directors, and other executive team members on strategic plans with a focus on driving profitability in line with corporate culture and values.
• Lead Finance and Accounting to provide and interpret financial information and business intelligence to improve efficiency and decision making across functional units.
• Utilize data to support business performance and ensure profitable growth.
• Influence executive decisions with data, respectful discussion, and challenges to the status quo.
• Ensure sound financial management and control practices, including but not limited to internal financial reporting, internal controls, audits and compliance, accounting, strategic and operational financial planning and analysis, budget reporting, management reporting, as well as insurance and risk management.
• Oversee analysis, including but not limited to product cost & pricing, margins, market strategies, product introductions, and reporting.
• Consult with business units during budgeting and forecasting to support capital and business development projects.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships to understand the business context and provide insights, trends, and context to others to drive business performance.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of Brothers business, strategy, employees, and customers.
• Generate meaningful insights that support strategy, decisions, and actions.
• Provide timely and accurate analyses of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends.
• Ensure data systems can meet the company's business objectives.
• Identify opportunities for innovation that have the potential to improve performance and offer a unique perspective on solving business problems.
• Compare actual performance against forecast and recommend corrective action when actual performance significantly deviates from expected.
• Manage the development, approval, and consolidation of short and long-term plans for operating and capital budgets, business plans, expense forecasting, profit sharing, resource planning, etc.
• Ensure adequate controls, systems, and infrastructure are in place to support compliant and efficient processes and procedures.
• Develop and lead high performing teams and individuals leveraging KPI's and give appropriate feedback.
• Serve as an active, collaborative, and supportive member of the executive team.
• Provide internal monthly reports and periodic reforecasting of the current year's financial and business plans.
• Review legal documents and manage legal challenges in collaboration with counsel.
• Ensure compliance with company policy, goals, safety, and food safety regulations.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe manner.
• Ensures compliance with Brothers food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
