Job description

Summary: Maitri is a non-profit agency in the San Francisco Bay Area whose vision is a society where all relationships are based on dignity, equity, and compassion. Maitris mission focused programs help provide critical services that empower south Asian survivors of domestic violence, and move the needle on prevention of abuse in the south Asian community and beyond. We are looking for a Donor Engagement Manager to join our team of passionate individuals that will further Maitris mission. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and excited about developing and managing a strong community giving program at all levels of giving, identifying corporate partners and CSRs for sponsorship, and further the fundraising strategies to support the financial sustainability of the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, document, and implement a systematic and integrated donor engagement program and corporate giving program.
  • Maintain ongoing communications and continued cultivation of past and current donors to enhance their relationship with Maitri and increase the likelihood of continued contributions.
  • Support the board and Executive Director to create solicitation and year-round engagement strategies to retain current and attract new donors.
  • Work closely with the fundraising committee to identify and develop relationships with corporate social responsibility programs that match the Maitri mission with the goal of raising ongoing funds.
  • Manage fundraising and other donor engagements events
  • Manage the donor database and generate reports and analysis on a regular basis.
  • Build and maintain online profiles for the organization, including Charity Navigator and GuideStar
  • Use all methods of communication--in-person, phone, email, webinars, and fundraising platforms--to engage and develop relationships with donors.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required as a member of the staff team including monthly reports and team meetings

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a minimum two years of nonprofit donor relations experience.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building donor relationships, fundraising, and managing donor data, reports, and metrics.
  • Experience with donor database tools and high level of proficiency to learn and adapt to any new online fundraising/CRM tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional understanding of philanthropy as it relates to the not-for-profit organization.
  • The knowledge and ability to create, execute and/or support, and oversee a comprehensive donor acknowledgement and recognition plan, including advising on complex and carefully orchestrated cultivation events and programs for the major donors.
  • Knowledge and experience of using social media is a huge plus.
  • Ability to convey a high degree of commitment and passion for mission and values of Maitri show a keen desire for collaboration and teamwork within the organization
  • Excellent digital, written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences including board members, staff, volunteers, donors, executives, potential funding partners and all constituencies.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Detail oriented, well organized, focused and goal oriented, with a high level of initiative and energy, as well as problem solving skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule when needed and to complete tasks on hand
  • Work Authorization for USA required.
