Position Summary:

The business analysis role will be to provide support for existing business critical systems while also engaging with the business teams to understand the business initiatives and strategy and translate these outcomes into functional requirements that can be delivered. The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the final deliverable of a development of the project meets all of the intended needs of the business. The IT Business Analyst will have a good understanding of the complete project life cycle and be expected to apply it to projects, working to some capacity as a project manager. Hands-on development of different technologies will be expected of the IT Business Analyst.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Convert business requirements into technical solution through various means, delivering reliable applications within the scope, budget and time restrictions defined.
  • Maintain solutions through hands-on development and other resources.
  • Analyze, define and document system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, auditing, reporting requirements and production configuration.
  • Analyze code for problem resolution and performance optimization.
  • Create test data sets and plans to ensure all components of the system meet specifications.
  • Analyze, install and test commercial software for internal use. Provide technical support for third party systems integration.
  • Write scripts, SQL, and other solutions for ad-hoc report generation.
  • Analyze business models and make recommendation for optimal processes.
  • Develop project plans and manage project's individual deliverables.
  • Manage stakeholders' expectations of project and deliverables.
  • Manage all project relationships including outside vendors.
  • Manage project teams in delivering the project.
  • Communicate and manage tasks and activities to a schedule with the team, and provide feedback to team members as appropriate.
  • Effectively manage project efforts to include: development and management of project plans, scope, budget, resource management, time management (activities and task planning), risk management.
  • Provide daily AS/400 operational support.
  • Monitor business systems for optimal performance.
  • Respond to program error messages by finding and correcting problems or terminating the program.
  • Effectively communicate and manage external technical resources.
  • Prototype new applications to refine requirements.
  • Oversee new systems implementations and projects requirement gathering and analysis.
  • Work with IT teams to ensure application requirements are translated to technical solutions.
  • Evaluate, test, and propose new technologies.
  • Work with vendors to integrate software and/or systems.
  • Collaborating with IT staff, users and senior management.
  • Report project status including any recommendations as necessary.
  • Manage QA and testing efforts to ensure consistently good quality in all deliverables.
  • Develop user training materials and provide guidance and support.
  • Develop departmental training materials and processes for on-going operational support.
  • In support of the business, perform requirements gathering and analysis to include: analytical techniques, interview techniques, data logic, data gathering techniques, system documentation, business modeling methods, and analytical troubleshooting.
  • Develop and implement test plan scenarios to ensure successful delivery of a project.
  • Lend support to various business and technology teams as necessary during project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively in both verbal (i.e. day-to-day discussion, team meetings) and written (requirements and design specifications) form.
  • Accurately assess risks associated with each solution design/project.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and daily support requirements.
  • Daily maintenance of assigned help desk tickets, ensure due date is specified and completed within timeline specified.
  • Maintain up to date ticket notes and ensure user sign-off at ticket closure.
  • Expertise in solutions used in the grocery industry, such as retail systems, tags, POS, accounting systems, warehouse management systems, handheld scanning and others.
  • Responsibilities include management and decision making authority for business critical systems
  • Assignment and Ownership of corporate business applications
Job Requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or related discipline.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a retail environment, preferably Grocery Chains.
  • Proven ability to evaluate and implement new software and upgrades.
  • Hands-on experience in SQL, Scripting Languages and other technologies.
Knowledge / Requirements:
  • Operational knowledge of IBM iSeries.
  • Strong project planning and budget management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to operate and multi-task in a dynamic fast paced environment.
Skills and Ability:
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

Please contact the third parties for questions regarding their privacy practices, as well as to exercise your rights.

5. When We Share Your Personal Information

Superior Grocers does not and will not sell your Personal Information to third parties. Superior Grocers may disclose your Personal Information to businesses and service providers in connection with processing your application. For example, Superior Grocers may input your Personal Information into a third-party software that helps us manage applicant data and track your application. Additionally, Superior Grocers may share information with third-party recruiting agencies that assist us in filling open positions.

6. What Rights You Have to Request Your Personal Information

You do not have rights to make requests under CCPA until January 1, 2021. Effective January 1, 2021, you will have the right to request additional information about what Superior Grocers has collected about you, request a copy of your Personal Information, and request to delete certain Personal Information. Superior Grocers will update applicant request rights as they become effective in 2021.
