Job description
Investor Relations Analyst
We are searching for a highly personable, strong communicator, and detail-oriented Investor Relations Analyst to join our small, entrepreneurial, and intensely collaborative team. Clocktower Group is an asset management and investment advisory firm based in Santa Monica, CA with an office in Shanghai. We have developed a premier network of institutional investors, managers, and market thinkers focused on hedge fund and venture investing. We use our insight and perspective to actively collaborate with our clients in designing more effective investment portfolios. Our fast-growing business today includes a hedge fund seeding platform (with both global macro and China strategies), a hedge fund advisory service, and a fintech venture capital platform.
We view our investors as our strategic partners. They are the heart of our business and our desire to deliver exceptional client service stems from our DNA as a firm - we are relentless about our relationship centric mindset. We strive to be opportunistic, ultimately innovating our business based on what our clients want and where we believe our world is going. As an analyst, you will focus on cultivating, expanding, and deepening our institutional investor relationships across our suite of products and asset classes to achieve these goals. You should be a proven collaborator who is excited to be part of a client-centric team. The ideal candidate will also find personal satisfaction in working towards the success of a team and reaching common goals.
What you'll do:
Investor Universe Coverage. You'll manage and improve our prospective investor pipelines, researching these investor universes with a focus on building long term, cross asset relationships for the firm.
Relationship Management. You'll develop, oversee, and maximize the value of our relationships. Ability to successfully build relationships on the phone and in person is a must.
Fundraise Strategy. You'll serve as support for all fundraising activities. We'll look to you to help us think strategically about every touch with an investor, architecting processes from the start to end of a comprehensive fundraise in the hedge fund and venture capital spaces. You'll envision and build customized materials that tell our story and invite investors in to become our partners.
Product Development. Suggest and collaborate on process improvements related to capital activity processing.
Process Improvement. Streamline information delivery to our clients including via standard and custom document requests, as well as completing due diligence questionnaires and requests for proposals, ensuring that the firm is appropriately described in external materials.
Cross-Collaboration. Contribute to cross-platform initiatives with various teams throughout the organization to mitigate business risk and advance the client experience.
Who we're looking for:
- 1-3+ years' of professional experience, with asset management, fund administrator, hedge fund, venture capital or private equity background preferred, but not required
- Proficiency with Investor Relations standards and industry trends with an interest in process improvements
- Ability to balance a multifaceted workload and exercise good judgement across a variety of requests
- Entrepreneurial, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent communication and acute attention to detail
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Although not necessary, having experience with a CRM is a plus
- This role must be onsite 3 days per week in our Santa Monica office.
- We currently require that all personnel and visitors to our office are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Given that many of the essential functions of this role must be performed on-site, this role requires full COVID-19 vaccination (subject to any exemptions or accommodations due to medical or religious reasons).
What you'll get:
- All the resources you'll need to learn and grow.
- Independence to run with your ideas.
- Joining an elite team that works with some of the most sophisticated investors and entrepreneurs in the world
- World-class benefits
- Delicious, healthy lunches and snacks
- Fully paid, top-tier medical coverage and corporate wellness program
- Beautiful office space with amazing ocean views
