Directs all operational and administrative functions of the Transportation, Parking and Snow Removal teams and vendors. Parking responsibilities include but is not limited to management of guest, homeowner and Employee Parking. Snow Removal responsibilities include but is not limited snow removal, training staff to connect to our guest. Ensures compliance with all government, agency, and contract regulations/requirements as it pertains to the passenger carrier operating permits. Supports Director in other Base Area planning projects, compliance work, other Base Area responsibilities and developing up and coming leaders. *RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Responsible for the hiring, training, performance management and development of staff while supporting department operations, company policies and procedures. * Build and manage the department budgets and forecasts in conjunction with Director, Base Operations Administrative Assistant and Finance. * Maintain compliance with all U.S. Department of Transportation, State of California Public Utilities Commission, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Develop and manage safety and training program. * Develop and manage a world class guest service program that supports and leads all Vail Resorts guest service initiatives. * Manage DISA, driver DQF's, Drug and alcohol screening program, all filings, reporting, renewals, and operating in compliance with all CPUC, and FMCSA regulatory standards. * Actively participate in Ski Resort Transportation and Base Operations best practice groups. * Actively grow and develop department bench strength, through delegating workloads at appropriate levels for individual growth, and utilize annual review performance management system to document successes and areas for improvement. * Oversee the completion of department accident and incident reporting, investigation, and related performance improvement planning. * Fulfills all requirements for compliance and reporting to TRPA and Lahontan Water district. * Lead gains to be made on Vail Resorts Commitment to Zero 2030. * Create and Maintain close and collaborative relationship with our California and Nevada side agency partners and neighbors. * Oversee the maintenance of facility and equipment to ensure safe and efficient work environment. * Coordinate receiving operations. Work with Dispatch/Security and all mountain departments to receive supply orders * Oversees all time and labor entries and approval of department payroll. * Resolve all guest related issues that may arise with the highest regard to guest service. * With the assistance of the Base Operations and Executive Administrative Assistants, Ensure Compliance to the Vail Contract and purchasing requirements. * Other duties as assigned. *QUALIFICATIONS:* *Required:* * 4 year degree, or 4 years of progressive experience in supervising/managing a passenger transit system. * Previous transportation, guest service, and training experience. * Valid CDL B/P * Driving record that meets minimum safe driver standards. * Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, Email and internet proficiency. * Previous Guest service experience. * Must be 21 years of age. *Preferred:* * Previous T&L management and budgeting experience * Public transportation experience *Reach Your Peak at Vail Resorts. *As a community of adventurers and discoverers, Vail Resorts delivers an experience of a lifetime to our guests and our employees.
