Job description

The Research Associate/Senior Research Associate position focuses on Antibody Developability and Structural Biology and is an outstanding opportunity for experienced associates as well as recent graduates to expand their skills in state-of-the-art experimental techniques to support thriving high-throughput developability assays and participate in structural biology studies while accelerating therapeutic discovery and development in regenerative medicine.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-throughput biophysical and biochemical assays to evaluate developability properties of antibody-based molecules.
• Perform routine cell-culture maintenance, protein expression in mammalian cells and purification in milligram-scale protein production and characterize antigen:antibody (Fab) complexes for crystallization screens.
• Perform high-throughput crystallization screens using liquid-handling robot and help to create crystallization grid-screens to optimize initial crystal hits.
• Maintain a detailed and well-organized record of experiments in an electronic notebook
• Preparation of presentations, technical reports, summaries and detailed protocols, and contribute to company reports as requested.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team player committed to success and getting the job done well in a highly dynamic environment.
• Organize time and plan specifics of project related work with oversight from manager.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics or related field minimum of 1+ years relevant experience.
• Demonstrable experience in molecular biology, high-throughput biochemical assays (ELISA), cell-culture, protein expression, and Western blot techniques.
• Experience in affinity purification and gel-filtration chromatography on AKTA-FPLC systems.
• Experience in characterization methods like HPLC, CE-SDS, and sample preparation for mass-spectrometry would be desirable.
• Candidates with prior experience assessing the biophysical and chemical stability of antibody-based therapeutics would be preferred.
• Experience in protein crystallization and crystal optimization would be advantageous.
• Attention to detail, self-motivation, and creative thinking will be essential.
• Excellent organizational, clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
