The Engineering Program Manager is managing, planning, coordination, tracking, and successful implementation of multiple software projects. Ensure projects meet corporate strategies and goals around on-time delivery, budget, product development processes, quality system and regulatory requirements.
This position is part of the PMO - Engineering Systems, connectivity & Informatics organization and will be located in Sunnyvale, Ca. The PMO provides unique value to Cepheid by delivering products and solutions on time and within budget that enable patients to access high quality molecular diagnostics everywhere.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead the planning and implementation of multiple Software Engineering development programs, with full responsibility for the project from both business and technical perspectives.
Lead cross-functional core teams including team members from departments such as Biology, Engineering, Marketing, Regulatory, Clinical Affairs, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and others in the planning, coordination, and implementation of Software programs.
Manage and lead globally dispersed teams through multiple communication levels and mediums throughout the organization as well as external collaborators
Assess results of projects and incorporate improvements into the overall product development and project management processes. Contribute to continuous improvement projects for project documentation, templates, and Product Life Cycle (PLC) processes.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's degree with 8 + years' experience in software, data analytics platform or other complex software project management with experience in all aspects of product development and sustaining projects; planning, execution and product launch OR Master's degree with 6+ years of related work experience.
Demonstrable track record of (1) managing complex successful global product launches (2) managing and/or influencing the architecture of data analytics platform and providing business and governance recommendations.
Experienced in managing software projects under Agile development model.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Project, Power Point, Visio, Outlook, Excel) is required.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience managing hardware/biomedical instrument projects.
