Job description

Beacon Resources, in partnership with our client near Gardena, CA, seeks a Financial Analyst to join an e-commerce home furnishings company.


This is a newly created role.


This role will be remote at present; our client will eventually have their employees commute to the office once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.


Job - You will help prepare the upcoming budget and support upper management in the creation of new corporate strategies. You will report to a FP&A Manager.

Compensation/Benefits- Starting salary for this role starts at $80,000/year and increases DOE for the Financial Analyst. Our client supplements base compensation with a bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage options. There are an unlimited # of PTO days.

DUTIES OF THE FINANCIAL ANALYST

FP&A

  • Create forecasts, including use of historical and statistical methods, while incorporating variance analysis (actual v. budgeted and forecasted)
  • Create financial models to support all marketing activities (advertising, promotions, discounts, loyalty programs)
  • Analyze pricing of each individual item
  • Maintain and publish KPI's
  • Conduct analysis, including but not restricted to the following areas: sales revenue, cost and margin, material costs, manufacturing efficiencies, and rate of investment (ROI) for capital spending
  • Perform flux analysis to account for changes in financial statements from period to period
  • Forecast Capital Planning and Expense (CAPEX) figures
  • Maintain close interaction with Accounting, Sales and Operations divisions of the company

Accounting

  • Perform system reconciliations to assist with month-end closes
  • Double-check revenue recognition events

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for Management and for the Board of Directors

Miscellaneous

  • Assist in any ERP system implementation and integration issues
  • Take on other ad hoc duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE FINANCIAL ANALYST

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree

One of the following:

  • At least two (2) years of accounting experience at a Big 4 Public Accounting Firm (preferably auditing Consumer Product Goods (CPG) clients
  • At least two (2) years of FP&A experience at a Consumer Products Goods with inventory and revenue process understanding

Preferred

  • CPA
