Job description
Moog Aircraft Group is looking for a Sr. Electronics Project Engineer to be responsible for the development of Flight Control Computers (FCCs), Actuator Control Units (ACUs), and Motor Control Electronics (MCEs) for primary and secondary flight control systems for commercial and military aircraft. Our Electrical/Electronic Engineering team at Moog Aircraft Group is expanding and positioned for growth. This position is located at our aerospace facility in Torrance, CA.

As a Sr. Electronics Project Engineer, you will...
- Represent Moog as a recognized technical authority and project leader
- Guide the evolution of the conceptual design, and serve as focal point for customer communications
- Manage all aspects of technical project planning, including designs, proposals, cost estimates, schedules and technical interface meetings throughout the program lifecycle
- Prepare, organize and make presentations to customers in support of design reviews and technical interface meetings
- Be the primary motivator and a contributor to the analysis, conceptual design, development, and testing of complex flight actuation control hardware used on military and commercial aircraft.
- Oversee validation of system and/or component performance and integration, and coordinate the work of engineers and technicians who assist in specific assignments
- Communicate fluently to a wide variety of audiences, both internal and external
- Contribute to the development of new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnel
- Coordinate qualification of new products through a comprehensive development test program
- Communicate project status with clear and effective reports and presentations
- Support programs with some travel (5-10%) and the participation in presentations to customers
Minimum qualifications to be considered...
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
- 10 or more years of design and development engineering experience
- 5 or more years of project/team leadership experience
- Ability to access US export-controlled information

Preferred Qualifications Include...
- Master's Degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering preferred
- Depth of understanding and experience in the design, analysis and development aircraft actuation controllers
- Experience with requirement flow down
- Experience in the aerospace industry
- Experience with actuators sensor interfaces
- Experience with commercial and military standards (RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, and RTCA/DO-254 standards), Qualification, and Certification
- Leadership skills with strong organizational skills and a desire for constant improvement
