Job description

OVERVIEW

The Staff Accountant - Tax works closely with the Accounting department. The position is responsible for the preparation and review of tax returns, provide assistance to tax audits, and research tax laws and regulations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

* Prepares and reviews sales and use tax monthly compliance, as well as responds to any state notices and customer questions.
* Assists with preparation of annual income tax returns and workpapers.
* Assists with preparation of quarterly and annual estimated income tax payments.
* Performs monthly tax account reconciliations and prepares supporting documentation and journal entries.
* Assists with providing data and summary for purposes of estimating and budgeting tax cashflow.
* Responds and coordinates of any state and federal examination defense efforts.
* Establishes cross-functional relationships while driving process efficiencies and conflict solutions.
* Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
* Performs additional duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
* Minimum of 1-4 years' experience in preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns and researching tax issues.
* Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills and be detail oriented.
* Must have excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
* Must have intermediate proficiency with Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* CPA candidate, "Big Four" experience and/or a mix of public and private experience.
* Experience with SAP or large ERP system

* Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
* Must be flexible regarding working hours. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
* Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
* Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
* This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
