Job description

The Vice President of Finance works closely with the senior management team to seek operational improvement and drive growth. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, financial planning, monitoring and analyzing operating results against budget, and overseeing the daily operations of the finance departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain financial operating reports to analyze results to prior periods and budgets.
  • Review weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual results with the management team.
  • Identify and recommend improvement benchmarks.
  • Assist in establishing short and long term goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of all financial statements and reporting. This includes the income statement, balance sheet, inventory valuation, internal company reports, corporate reporting, and external reporting.
  • Work with the management team each period to accurately forecast operating results for the next eighteen months.
  • Prepare the annual operating plan and present it to corporate executives.
  • Act as the company liaison for all internal and external audits.
  • Provide all requested documentation to auditors.
  • Ensure a passing score on the Company internal audits.
  • Directs controller/s re Company corporate account standards

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business.
  • CPA certification preferred.

Experience

  • Five to ten years in a mid to senior-level finance or accounting position.

Professional Skills

  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and profitability analysis.
  • Ability to motivate teams and produce results within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects.

  • Procedural/reporting changes affecting finance departments.
  • Most important decisions made with review and approval of other individuals or supervisors (include the reviews/approvals required):
  • Annual Operating Plan for the company with review and approval of operating company president and corporate executives.
