Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Manager is accountable for Emanuel Medical Center's employee and labor relations' activity, provides management to the department in the absence of the CHRO, supervises HR Generalists. Ensures understanding and interpretation of policies, procedures, and programs to enhance management/staff relations. Listens to employee concerns and informs management of issues or concerns. Tracks and trends employee concerns and develops programs to address them. Meets with managers and employees, investigating issues and recommending solutions. Communicates regularly with other members of the HR Department, which may impact, or be impacted by, various employee issues. Develops performance management training programs designed to address various issues and delivers to management and/or staff as appropriate. Accountable for Emanuel Medical Center labor relations' activity for all Collective Bargaining Agreements (SEIU-UHW and California Nurses Association). Works with all levels of management ensuring the consistent application of Collective Bargaining Agreements. Works closely with the corporate labor relations department.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree or equivalent experience. Bachelor of Science degree and HR Certification preferred.

5+ years' experience in Human Resources and Labor Relations experience in a union environment required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, emergency and crisis situations, subject to irregular hours, occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
