Job description
Manages production scheduling activities in an organization. Designs and implements the production schedule plan considering all aspects of production including on time delivery, low cost, timeliness, and machine utilization. Monitors the materials inventories, tracking of progress of production, and reviewing of factors which affect production schedules. Familiar with lean manufacturing practices, and cost reduction initiatives. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and innovation is required. Requires a bachelor's degree. Report to the Director of Supply Chain & Customer Service. Supervises some group senior and junior planners. Makes day-to-day decisions across different department. Typically requires 5-7 years of experience as a manager in the area.
Responsibilities:
- Support Focus Factory to continuously meet the performance standard of operation - KPI's, including Safety, COPQ, On-Time Delivery, Productivity, Inventory, Cost, Sales, etc.
- Responsible for manufacturing forecasting, definition of lot size optimization, stablishing minimum balances, follow-up of raw material release, shop order release, MRP action messages and short and long term capacity planning.
- Responsible for offloading /outsourcing strategies implementation.
- ECO review and approval related to Materials, BOM or routings
- Generate production Capacity Requirement Planning according to the demand forecast and generate production resource requirement plan to include labor, equipment, fixtures, tools and sub-materials, etc.
- Lead continuous improvement material and scheduling initiatives on production flow and resource alignment, process efficiency and effectiveness by using LEAN manufacturing.
- Lead the weekly SIOP Reviews and ensure team has appropriately released and scheduled WIP to meet month end goals.
- Lead the daily Production Meetings to ensure shortages have been made visible and reviewed with the cross functional team.
- Implements Kanban, plan for every part and EPEI technics to improve focus factory scheduling and material flow efficiency.
- Responsible for WIP inventory levels and actions to drive inventory reduction.
- Administer Performance Management Process across area of responsibility for effectiveness, timeliness, and expected outcomes in focusing, aligning and engaging employees in the pursuit of the overall business strategies and goals.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (Business, Operations, Supply Management or Engineering).
- MBA or advance degree preferred.
- 10+ years relevant work experience in Scheduling and Planning leading in a process diverse manufacturing environment.
- Complete understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving. Must have proven managerial track record and sound organizational, communication and leadership skills.
- Requires expert Excel skill utilizing real life experience analyzing data.
- Working experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
- International travel including Mexico required 10-15%.
