Job Description Summary
The Community Banking Business Development Officer (BDO) will be responsible for growing the Bank's relationships with underserved communities and diverse segments by developing and managing programs and partnerships with community and internal stakeholders.
This role is based in the field and works across a cluster of branches to develop, execute and report on a local community outreach and engagement program. Ultimately, the candidate will collaborate with the Community Lending and Diverse Markets team to create and implement a national branch playbook for engaging community stakeholders.
The BDO will partner with branch leadership to develop and deepen relationships within the community and have a thorough understanding of any complex interdependencies of bank branches in the communities they serve. The BDO will lead and coordinate a wide range of community-based programs and events, while referring prospect opportunities into the branch network.
Essential Job Functions
- Builds and executes local strategy and programs for increasing referrals of underserved and diverse banking customers.
- Develops and manages partnerships with community and internal stakeholders, such as Retail Banking, Home Lending, Business Banking, Bank at Work and Wealth Management.
- Creates and manages a community engagement calendar, coordinating and facilitating regular financial education workshops and other community-based events.
- Responsible for helping meet market-level Community Development Service goals.
- Assist branch staff in identifying internal, targeted leads and provide coaching.
- Professionally present in small and large public settings.
- Track and report activities toward measurable goals.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Requires deep knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
- Typically viewed as a specialist within discipline.
- May have broad knowledge of project management.
- Requires 7 years minimum prior relevant experience.
- Spanish Fluency preferred
Education
- Bachelor's Degree
