WEST LA - Beach Cities Area

Overview:

OBVIOUS WINES is seeking energetic Sales Associates to join our Los Angeles team. This is a unique opportunity to manage a top-tier territory and be part of a modern wine company with an original concept that's rapidly expanding across the U.S.

Company:

Obvious Wines is an importer and distributor based in Venice, CA. We currently operate across 9 US States and primarily sell to artisanal restaurants, luxury hotels, craft retailers, and premium-organic grocery. In California we are self-distributed with our own sales team and have two distinct sides to our portfolio:

The Obvious Wines brand - A proprietary collection of premium quality, eco-friendly, vegan wines with uniquely straightforward / "Obvious" labels. Each wine is made in partnership with a boutique winery using estate-grown fruit from sustainable/organic vineyards in California, France, or Chile.

Obvious Wines Imports - A collection of exclusively distributed D.I. wines from classic French appellations and a selection of natural/organic wines from Europe, California, and South America. The selection is designed to be incredibly competitive in price, ethical produced, and perfect for quality retailers and BTG lists.

Candidate & Role:

This role involves managing our highest value territory with many long-standing relationships and Key Accounts from Malibu to South Bay. The role of Sales Associate will allow you to run a multi-channel territory that includes hotels, restaurants, and retailers. As a fast-paced start-up culture, we are also heavily focused on new account growth and developing local brand awareness. To be successful in this role you will need to be passionate and knowledgeable about wine, have a proven history of sales success, and ideally an established network of buyers in the Beach Cities area.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain existing account route (on/off/premium chain)

- Rapidly develop new business (New accounts & PODs)

- Cultivate strong relationships with buyers and staff

- Maintain proper wine list and retail positions

- Creatively apply POS (shelf talkers, case cards, case sleeves, bespoke displays)

- Engage consumers through in-store wine tastings and on-premise events (post-Covid)

- Educate waitstaff and retail staff through brand training and tastings

- Maintain account visit reports & inventory via the live Repsly CRM platform

- Attend company meetings and wine events as needed (occasional weekend days included)

Requirements

- Highly organized and able to manage a large geographic territory.

- Strong new account development skills, lead generating skills, and proven ability to close sales

- Passion for wine and knowledge of varietals, appellations, food pairings, etc.

- Entrepreneurial mindset

- Valid Driver's license

- Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds.

- Preferred residence within the territory

Compensation

- Base Salary + Commissions + Bonus + Incentives + Expense Allowance + Car Allowance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
