This is an opportunity to be part of something great -- the exciting growth of a small employee owned manufacturing firm! We are growing and in need of support to meet demand in our warehouse and cleanroom manufacturing areas.


We are looking for a long term, full time Operations Manager eager to join our foundation team. You will lead and mentor the production, planning, inventory and shipping teams to maximize efficiency, productivity, profits, and employee satisfaction. You will support planning with domestic and import supply partners, oversee purchasing activity, accurate production kitting, and ensure inventory stockroom integrity and material lot traceability. Your primary goal is to ensure the success and continuous development of your team.


We need someone solution oriented, and driven to succeed through team learning and continual improvement. A well qualified candidate must manage and communicate exceptionally well to facilitate collaboration between and among departments. You must excel in translating forecasts, firm demand, and historical usage data to plan, execute, and manage purchasing and production activities.


JOB DESCRIPTION


Summary


The Operations Manager provides leadership for all inventory, planning, production, and shipping processes in accordance with company policies and goals. You will actively coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Quality Team to support customer demand. You will be responsible for Supply Chain Management, On Time Delivery, Quality Performance, Lean Inventory Management, and MRP system integrity. This position requires dedication to the performance of the business and must be willing to set aside other influences when the company's interests are at stake.


Responsibilities


  • Defines the required purchases and deliverables by planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of materials, goods, and services throughout the product life cycle.
  • Create production schedules and supervise work and purchase orders.
  • Work with Production Supervisors to identify instances where MRP standard costs, lead times, MOQ's or other MRP drivers should be amended for improvement.
  • Supervises purchase agreements, prices and terms with suppliers
  • Manage physical inventory control - balance between inventory and cost savings objectives, maintain and manage physical inventory including stockrooms and kitting procedures
  • Act as a resource during customer audits, and provide professional customer service
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Establish and maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure compliance with company's policies
  • Assist production team with projects to improve operational efficiency and service quality
  • Work to promote company's culture
  • Improve the existing procedures for outgoing and incoming resources and track inventory for the warehousing department
  • Overseeing facility layout
  • Develop and adhere to operations budget
  • Keep track of staffing requirements and hire new talent as needed to correspond with specific duties and skill sets
  • Communicate with legal counsel and safety department to ensure all processes remain compliant with OSHA and other governmental regulations
  • Attend meetings will all managers and lead production issues
  • Constant and effective communication with all departments in order to coordinate and manage production flow and staffing (Engineering, Quality, Customer Service and HR)
  • Reports directly to the president

Physical/Environmental Requirements


This position maintains all production and inventory facilities and will require some lifting


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Exceptional excel and related analytical computer skills
  • 5-7 years exposure to an MRP or ERP system Management in production, inventory control or purchasing experience is required.
  • Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills to interact with supply chain
  • Able to communicate at all levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication, strong interpersonal skills
  • Process-oriented mindset focused on continuous improvement, excellent problem-solving skills

Education Requirements


Bachelor's Degree

5+ years operations experience
