Role Overview
The Sr. Human Resources Manager (HRM) is responsible for partnering up with operations and other assigned support function client groups to execute a variety of business-critical employee related tasks such as full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, compensation analysis, benefits, learning and development, performance management, and regulatory compliance programs. The ideal candidate will act as an employee champion and change agent and will be solutions focused; comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables and the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions. Our HRM will be a key role in our team and will communicate needs proactively with our business leaders and corporate HR to develop integrated solutions.
To be successful in this position, you will need to:
- Manage full cycle recruiting for all operations warehouse openings; from prospect to offer of our recruiting efforts (e.g. Review resumes, assess candidate qualifications, conduct first round interviews, take notes on all candidates, negotiate a verbal offer and provide written offer); proactively sources, engages, maintains, and closes a strong candidate pipeline for all open positions.
- Partner with client groups and advises Hiring Managers and Business Leaders on role development, sourcing, interviewing, and closing strategy by role/team; tracks progress and makes recommendations to improve recruiting processes and metrics; creates recruitment status reports and other ad hoc reports as needed.
- Create and execute learning strategies and programs; evaluating organizational development needs to implement various learning methods companywide (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, online training); aid in the content design and deliver/facilitate e-learning courses, workshops and other trainings conducted in-house by Whiplash HR to help managers develop their team members through career pathing, etc.
- Provide day-to-day support regarding human resources and organizational issues in designated buildings; aligning business objectives with employees and management; performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions); work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues in a timely manner; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations; consult with HR Sr. Leadership to seek guidance when appropriate.
- Responsible for Leave of Absence administration, COBRA, and interactive process documentation and consultation efforts; in assigned buildings.
- Participate and recommend short and long term Human Resources policies, initiatives, and practices that support the corporate vision and strategy and encourage high employee morale; understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company.
- Assist in the development of competitive wage and salary structure, pay policies, performance appraisal programs, rewards, payroll process, and employee benefit programs, balancing effectiveness and cost.
- Ensure that policies and practices regarding state and federal laws (employment, wage and hour, etc.) are current and incorporated into training and consulting; communicate and educate leadership, managers, and associates of new developments as applicable.

Qualifications
To be a strong candidate for the Sr. Human Resources Manager opportunity, you will have:
- 7+ years of multi-location Human Resource experience
- 5+ years' experience in full cycle recruiting with 3+ years' experience recruiting for warehouse operation roles
- A bachelor's degree required; Industrial Relations or Human Resources Management is preferred
- Excellent communication skills with verbal and written fluency in English and Spanish desired
- Full-cycle recruiting experience (exempt and non-exempt) with the ability to source and hire a high volume warehouse and distribution employees.
- Ability to maintain and develop sourcing partnerships/sources in the community
- Skill and experience with investigations, including the ability to make recommendations and execute
- Knowledge of and experience with multi-state labor laws and Federal laws and requirements in CA and WA required
- Analytical & critical thinking: Must look at numerical values, trends, and data and come to new conclusions and recommendations based on the findings
- Experience in warehouse, distribution, 3PL or similar environments preferred
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. intermediate Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills)
- Strong communication and facilitation skills to deliver all in-house training needs to client groups
- Strong time management and organizational skills to thrive and meet goals
- HRIS experience, ideally with Paycom, ADP or similar
