in this role you will:
- Plan and purchase raw materials, bulk (semi-finished goods) and finished goods to support forecasted demand
- Coordinate domestic and international logistics to support Purchasing requirements
- Monitor inventory levels and changes in demand over time and adjust plan accordingly
- Provide feedback to forecasting team related to unplanned increases or decreases in inventory
- Help manage and maintain masterdata (BOM's, costs, purchasing info records, lead times, etc) within SAP
- Maintain POs and process routine transactions within SAP to ensure accurate inventory and timely payment to suppliers
- Coordinate payment issues between Finance and suppliers
- Proactively monitor inventory levels and expedite/delay purchase orders and shipping as necessary
- Document and maintain written processes and procedures
- Generate and publish metrics that measure and drive improvements in individual and department productivity
- Complete special assignments for the Purchasing department as directed by Purchasing Manager
- Maintain effective relationships and regular proactive communications with suppliers
- Leverage supplier relationships and expertise to make improvements or solve problems
- Drive out waste within the purchasing process and seek cost reductions or cost avoidance
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with in-house stakeholders and suppliers
- Work effectively with people across time-zones, cultures, and backgrounds
- Bachelors degree or a minimum of four years experience in a relevant field
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets (Domo or Tableau experience is a plus)
- Practical experience with MRP and ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus)
- APICS, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interests, percentages, proportions, and currency exchange rates
- Ability to utilize data-driven decision-making alongside creativity and instinct
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to problem solve and find solutions independently
