Human Resource Specialist
Description
Human Resources Specialist will include: 1) Employee Relations 2) Performance Management 3) Leaves of Absences, 4) Prevention & Safety 5) Workers' Compensation, and 6) Handbook/ Guidelines with Annual Updates and Policies. Must be able to complete the essential responsibilities at a professional level with consistency and lead key projects with innovation while demonstrating project management skills. The HR Specialist will plan and arrange their own work, plan projects, set and meet deadlines, only referring unusual matters to the SVP of Human Resources and Development. - Coordinates all LOAs communications with employee, manager, medical providers, HR legal counsel, and other parties
- Prepares leaves of absences (LOA) paperwork and accrual information for payroll processing
- Develops employee communication pieces including FAQs
- Develops training on LOAs to ensure compliance
- Reconciles and prepares HR vendor invoices for submission to accounting
- Maintains employees' confidential personnel files
- Processes various agency requests for payroll including unemployment claims as well as other agencies. Prepares accurate responses
- As the main point of contact for all employee relations consults with, advises, makes appropriate recommendations including processes on employee and manager relations; escalates more complicated issues to SVP.
- Will handle employee relations issues sensitively and effectively using our Vision, Mission, and Core Value - including FACES (Friendly, Accurate and Courteous = excellent service).
- Coordinates performance evaluations- approximately 300 reviews annually
- Notifies appropriate parties of due dates and follow up until complete
- Escalates concerns to SVP/HR or another Senior Leader
- Ensures correct paperwork is forwarded monthly to payroll and for the employee's file
- An Associates' degree in Human Resource Management and 2-5 years of experience in HR serving 250 or more employees
- Knowledge of employee relations, leaves of absence, performance management, prevention and safety, or a similar combination of education and experience, including considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources
- Prior experience with HRIS/Payroll databases required. Experience with ADP / Workforce Now 10 preferred
- Must be able to work effectively with all leadership, staff, and outside business vendors
- Able to multi-task effectively and efficiently with the ability to follow-up on actions in a reasonable time frame
- Above average Microsoft Office software skills, primarily in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or above) with an emphasis in Human Resources or Organization Development; or other comparable degrees preferred
- More than 5 years of experience in at least three of our key HR functions preferred
- ADP / Workforce Now 10 Payroll knowledge preferred
- Other HR department automation applications such as a Performance Management, LOA software, Prevention and Safety, etc. preferred
- Financial Institution/Credit Union experience preferred
- Key Human Resource certifications (PHR, SPHR or other certifications/equivalent such as ADP Payroll, Compensation, etc.) preferred
Hours are Monday- Friday between the hours of 7:30 to 6:00 pm depending on the position and needs of the business. Saturday's may be needed to assist in HR items from time to time only.
