Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Manage a safe and productive shop, while maintaining industry leading cost controls and directing proactive maintenance practices. Oversee preventative maintenance and any additional repairs to ensure the safety and production of customers assets are repaired in a timely manner.

  • Prioritize workflow and maximize up time on equipment.
  • Masterfully control costs by evaluating service quality and making best cost value parts solutions for a varying number of techs
  • Continually enhancing the shop and Iron Maintenance's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and innovative ideas and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Empowerment of employees by leading and providing hands-on training and mentorship to a varying number of techs
  • Identify chronic and repetitive repair issues and develop proactive, cost effective and safe solutions to limit equipment down time.
  • Control costs by identifying warranty, evaluating service quality, identifying, and making best cost value parts solutions for a varying number of techs.
  • Lead continual enhancements to assigned Shop(s) and explore opportunities to add value to the organization.
  • Lead and provide hands-on training opportunities to all techs.
  • Oversee assigned Shop(s) technician mentor program.
  • Proactively communicate with Owner Operators or independent contractors about upcoming services and equipment issues.
  • Review work orders performed on equipment and ensure the charges and coding are correct and closed in a timely fashion.
  • Provide monthly safety training to ensure the shop is meeting OSHA standards.
  • Reduce idle inventory and oversee inventory management program.
  • Review all work orders for potential warranty and confirm all warranty dollars received through our Warranty Department.
  • Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
Qualifications: What you need to bring
  • Five years of heavy truck wreck rebuilding, five years trade truck experience, leadership experience preferred-accounting and business leadership desired, parts and tire experience helpful, experience in OSHA, EPA helpful, along with hiring and interviewing also helpful with experience in vendor negotiating a plus.
  • Previous experience with complying with OSHA, DOT and CSA regulations preferred.
  • Previous supervisory and/or business leadership preferred.
  • Previous experience with parts and/or tires preferred.
  • Previous experience in vendor negotiating preferred.
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • HSD or equivalent required.
  • Associates preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be proficient with Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, and Power Point; computer keyboarding and 10-key experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Monday thru Friday
  • 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
