OVERVIEW:
Abbyson is looking for a dynamic individual to join as the VP of Finance within our Accounting/Finance department to manage daily finance functions. Reporting to the CFO, the VP of Finance will be an essential member of the team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter individual with strong analytical skills. This role should have the ability to quickly comprehend the business operations and functioning.
Reporting Relationship: This role will report directly to the company's Chief Financial Officer, who is responsible for Abbyson's finance functions. The VP of Finance will help develop the financial function and supervise the financial analysts.
Specific Responsibilities: The VP of Finance will work with the CFO and applications team to ensure the financial systems are in alignment with the company's objectives such as improving productivity, gaining insights into customer data, driving financial performance, and the use of data to make decisions across the company.
- This position will manage all internal and external reporting, including investors and banks.
- This position will establish operational financial and policy and procedures and provide strategic guidance.
- Support leadership with key finance and business management functions including project management, strategy development, creation and analysis of sales/management reporting, and ad-hoc requests.
This position leads the FP&A team supporting the corporate budgeting (actuals to budget), reporting, analytics, weekly and monthly cash flows, bank reporting, and special projects in the finance organization. You and your team will have a great deal of input on data structure, dashboards and reporting as Abbyson improves their financial systems, using Great Plains as the primary ERP system. You must be comfortable wearing multiple hats, managing multiple projects and processes, delivering on-time results and working closely with senior management on budgets and performance management. This role will be expected to provide analytical leadership, direction, and analysis to senior management and cross-functional department leaders. You will play a key role in driving business metrics, analyzing costs, and will work closely with other departments to achieve business goals and create value.
Must-Haves:
● Experience with cash-flow preparation and reporting
● Experience with budget preparation and reporting
● Experience working with and providing guidance to both external and bank auditors
Qualifications and Experience:
● 10+directo years of corporate finance experience
● Advanced knowledge of MS Office: Excel, Access, PowerPoint
● Experience using business intelligence/data warehouse solutions
● Experience consolidating financial reports, data mining, creating dashboards
● Financial modeling: pivot tables, v-lookups, macros
● Strong work ethic, sense of accountability and responsibility
● Project management skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
● Judgment and decision-making skills; considering relative costs, benefits of potential actions
● Mentoring and development of staff
● Proactive/self-driven work habits with demonstrated ability to lead change/improve processes
● Natural curiosity and drive to improve the current state of analytics and support data-based decision making across the organization
