Description:
Assist Charter Communications planning and project management teams in estimating construction and capital projects nationally. Lead cost estimate development, based upon the size and project complexity. Be able to provide high level estimates to establish project feasibilities. Additional administration activities such calling for quotations or building spreadsheets are expected.

The candidate will also be expected to assist with the database administration duties to help update and expand our unit pricing database, including updates and new line items. The candidate will be involved in construction design meetings to discuss pricing, offer creative cost-saving solutions, and negotiating final construction contract pricing.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Implements and evaluates management processes and templates. Compiles metrics relating to construction and real estate project success, project attributes, and individual productivity and adherence to defined processes.

Coordinates and works with internal and external parties to organize the various components needed to initiate, run and conclude minor and major projects.
Serves as a resource to transactions, planners, project managers and project leaders to educate and assist them with forecasting estimates for budgeting and execution.
Develops evaluate and compile scope of work and cost data for project and construction cost estimates. Work on conceptual estimates: preliminary design/ testfits, 30%, 60%, and 100% design milestones.
Demonstrates understanding and ability to interrupt architectural plans and specifications to preparing construction cost estimates.
Maintains a database of unit pricing and factor project location and escalation into a cost estimation. Establish a historical benchmarking system. Investigate current services, and material pricing. Have a knowledge of all trades, scope, time frames/field execution, typical missed scope/exposures.
Assists in development of spreadsheet tools or templates. Communicates and suggests new efficient ways to improve the estimating process. Reviews and evaluates requests for estimates.
Monitors and helps forecast any cost and material changes and escalations nationally

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to speak, write and understand English
Ability to write and communicate an effective basis of estimate to document the scope of work, major assumptions, and excluded items
Ability to assist with the management of diverse and strategic projects
Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Basic understanding of program and project budgets
The candidate should have construction experience and the ability to translate this into construction cost estimates.
Ability to read construction and engineer drawings
Basic understanding of implementing project plans, monitoring progress, resource usage and quality
Basic knowledge of project management disciplines
The candidate shall have the skills for performing quantity takeoff from drawings, either manually or using takeoff software.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field or equivalent work experience
Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management
