Primary responsibility is the Demand Creation- development and expansion of Richardson Electronics sales of PMT products in the assigned geographic territory. The position has 100% customer account responsibility.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Essential Job Functions:
Sales Activities
· Make regular sales calls to OEM/ Key MRO targeted Customers at least 40% travel is required within the assigned District, to meet and develop strong relationship with key customers and have very good understanding of the customer's needs/requirements.
· Maintain a consistent communication with the Inside Partner (ISA) at Corporate to insure both are on the same page
· Maintain contact and develop a working business relationship with our supplier's sales force. Balance the effort with the supplier against the potential volume.
· Make joint calls with our supplier's sales people when it is strategically and tactically necessary.
· Develop new account penetration strategies, including prospecting, where account shows potential.
· Promote and sell synergistic product lines and product line additions to our existing customer base. (Includes all REL SBU's products) to maintain existing business
· Offer solutions to customers by interpreting selling points of out product services.
· Meet /exceed Sales and PM Goals
· BDM is expected to develop new business and grow the existing business in the region/ districts assigned.
Servicing Functions
· Assists in expediting, request for credit, special orders, returns, sample request, follow-up letters, and literature requests with Filed Sales Associate (FSA) when required/requested.
· Report product weakness and complaints to the appropriate vendor and product management.
· Work in conjunction with FSA to keep the information on the XRM system updated.
Territory Management
· Balance the frequency and duration of sales calls the customer's Program Management, Engineering, Product Control, Quality and Purchasing Departments to attain sales and gross margin goals.
· Plan the mix of customer calls, joint calls and supplier sales calls to optimize the districts contribution of gross margin dollars to the Corporation.
· Balance the engineering effort with customer against potential volume.
Other Activities
· Attends and participates in sales meetings, trade shows and training seminars as required and assigned.
· Keeps informed on market changes and trends relating to products in the industry and report these to product management.
· Prepare and submits all required reports in a timely manner, ("required reports" need to be defined).
· Assist in training Inside Sales Reps on product, market and customers as required by the demands of the region.
· Maintain sales portfolios, samples kits, etc.
· Maintain loyalty and respect for the Company.
· Assist in review of FSA.
Qualification Requirements:
5 + years Sales experience and Related Market experience required. Must have strong knowledge of products specific to various REL SBU's product application, and sales techniques as related to the distribution of electronic components.
