Position Overview:
Eliassen Group is seeking a talented Audit Manager for a long-term operational risk management project with a financial services firm. The Audit Manager will be responsible for directing audit activities and directing and coordinating audit teams to ensure that all deliverables are met. As a strategic business partner, the Audit Manager will help the company accomplish its business objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
Description:
- Lead and execute both moderately and highly complex operational audit engagements throughout the entire audit lifecycle.
- Provide coaching and guidance to audit staff to ensure quality and timely audit engagement deliverables.
- Update engagement risk assessments utilizing current data.
- Develop and verify accuracy of content within audit reports and presentations and manage continuous monitoring of content.
- Review work papers and deliver audit team end of engagement evaluations when applicable
- Lead continuous monitoring and advisory activities, special reviews, and investigations.
- Build and develop relationships both internally within Audit and externally with clients and control partners to help drive strategic objectives with the business.
- Ensure engagements are completed objectively, professionally, and in accordance with corporate and industry audit standards.
- Identify and remediate issues and roadblocks to successful completion of audit activities.
- Provide guidance on the use of business systems, applications, and/or audit tools to create queries and ad hoc reports.
- Review, analyze, and interpret data collected from multiple sources to ensure valid conclusions are drawn.
- Communicate with businesses/clients and deliver both risk-based and difficult messages and communicate with regulators and leaders as needed.
- Identify control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement in the current operating environment and provide recommendations for corrective action.
- Draft audit documentation and audit reports for issuance to respective client leadership and coordinator or conduct follow-up activities as defined in the observations.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field required, MBA a plus.
- Experience related to financial services or banking operations.
- CPA, CFE or other audit related certification preferred.
- Extensive experience in directing and managing audits required.
- Advanced knowledge of audit theory and demonstrated experience in audit execution.
- Advanced level business acumen in business operations, industry practices and emerging trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with professionals and stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
