The Department of Physiology & Biophysics has an opening for a full time University Staff (unclassified) Research Services Professional (Entry, Intermediate, Senior - Open Rank) position.

Nature of Work:

Human Resources

Coordinate human resources functions in the department including:

A) Serve as liaison between department and Human Resources Shared Services for all personnel actions.

B) Advise faculty as to the process of new employee recruitments and employee terminations.

C) Advise department search committees in the search process.

D) Responsible for organizing and managing workflow process for new employee onboarding.

E) Process funding distributions and payroll expense transfers for laboratory staff and others as needed.

F) Coordinate faculty searches, promotions using SOM's Interfolio system, and appointment changes with the

School of Medicine Faculty Affairs Office. Advise department on faculty affairs procedures and assist with

paperwork completion.

Post-Award

Responsible for all aspects of post-award grants administration including:

A) Activate Grant Accounts

• Review notice of grant award with PI making note of any special terms and conditions.

• Request creation of new account numbers appropriate to funding source and activity

• Confirm budget is set up correctly in finance system according to the award document.

B) Contract and Subcontract Administration

• Establish subcontracts as per notice of grant award with participating institutions

• Process standing purchase orders for outgoing subcontracts.

• Process subcontract amendments.

• Facilitate the submission and payment of invoices in a timely manner

• Work directly with Subcontractor, PI and Post-Award Office to resolve issues.

• Notify PI of contractual issues and potential problems.

• Coordinate incoming contracts, work with subcontract institution, PI and Post-Award Office to resolve

issues.

C) Reconcile grant, AEF and gift accounts on a monthly basis. Review transactions for appropriateness.

D) Monitor billing and accounts receivable.

E) Monitor budget and cash balances.

F) Service as liaison between department and PreAward Shared Service (PASS)

G) Provide monthly financial projections to PI's and the Director of Finance and Administration on all

sponsored programs and start-up accounts.

H) Maintain department speedtype list.

I) Assist with statements of appointments, activation notices, and termination notices (NIH) for training

grants and fellowships

J) Rebudgeting of awarded grants

K) Complete all applicable forms and request to sponsor and Office of Grants and contracts

L) Serve as liaison with the Office of Grants and Contracts, Sponsors and PI's.

M) Process grant account close-outs.

Procurement

A) Oversee elements of the purchasing processes in CU Marketplace and Procurement Card for department.

B) Review purchases for coding accuracy and appropriateness.

Other:

A) Manage annual webspace survey and annual equipment inventory.

B) Process financial transactions for the department including, journal entries, purchase orders, payment

voucher, cash receipts and check deposits

C) Process tuition remission for all graduate students in the department.

D) Review and submit CU Market Place carts including speedtype and account code usage.

E) Assist the Operations Specialist in processing travel reimbursements and procurement card reports when

needed.

F) Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Administration.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range ( or hiring range ) for this position starts at:

Entry Level: $43,830 - $60,000

Intermediate Level: $47,697 - $65,000

Senior Level: $51,564 - $70,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

  • Entry level: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, public administration, or closely related area.

  • Experience working at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
  • Experience with data analytics and analytic reporting tools such as Power BI or tableau
