What we are looking for: The Senior Life Cycle Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for conducting sustaining engineering activities for the Virus Analytics group. The holder of this position will maintain the specifications for the product given the impacts from obsolescence or continuous improvements efforts aimed at supporting customer needs throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Support the sustainment of products through knowledge of the performance requirements, including all aspects of the product design criteria, product function and customer needs
  • Ensure quality in a product's design for usability, reliability, functionality, marketability, and manufacturability
  • Work hand in hand with test engineers to perform characterization or formal tests to verify/validate changes to the instruments
  • Contribute as a team member on sustaining engineering projects carrying out assigned responsibilities in a timely, diligent, safe, and professional manner
  • Ensure a safe, healthy and environmentally-friendly workplace by observing Company's procedures and corresponding regulations


Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Life cycle engineering or product design and development with a solid understanding of the product lifecycle of electromechanical instruments/devices


Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Able to identify, break down and solve a variety of difficult technical problems
  • Strong aptitude for hands-on engineering testing and experimentation in a lab/shop environment
  • Proficient in the use of SolidWorks CAD software
  • Disciplined and well-organized in documentation (plans, requirements, drawings, design reviews, work instructions and test methods)
  • Experience working with ISO requirements and other relevant guidelines and regulations
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and analysis
  • Team player with good communication skills

Desired skills

  • Design controls experience from a highly regulated industry (medical device/aerospace)
  • Fluidics/Micro fluidics experience
  • Signal detection methods
  • Optimistic character and attitude, keeping a cool head during difficult times
