Job description

The Technical Business Analyst is responsible for the technical support of CPI's business applications including: ERP, CRM, analytics tools, ETL processes, and robotic process automation (RPA) solutions. The role partners with business analysts, software development teams, and product owners to build robust and creative technical solutions for production support and new development.

The ideal candidate for this role would be a well-rounded person, have an understanding of business processes around enterprise systems (such as ERP and CRM tools) as well as a strong technical background working with databases, report writing, software development, APIs, and RPA tools.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use software engineering and analyst skills to support business and production operations by building technical solutions using RPA tools, various databases, SQL, scripting, and software development methodologies
  • Support daily production and prepress operations through managing and updating RPA work flows and scripts
  • Develop tools to automate data imports and exports from business tools
  • Work across functional and product teams to build system and data integrations with our core ERP and CRM systems
  • Develop a suite of monitoring tools with the goal of increasing stability and reliability of CPI's core business applications
  • Collaborate with CPI's product teams to build data integrations with our proprietary systems
  • Work closely with CPI's Prepress operations to support, design, and build RPA solutions
  • Develop a deep understanding of an extensive set of existing RPA workflows; working toward becoming an SME for the Prepress toolset
  • Create detailed documents describing interactions between systems
  • Be a leader with developing and designing CPI's integrations, monitoring, and RPA solutions
  • Design and develop reports using tools such as Tableau, SSRS, Crystal Reports
  • Traveling to other CPI locations as needed
  • Working night and weekends rarely, as needed, to assist with testing and software implementations


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in technical or business disciplines
  • 4+ years of software development, scripting, or RPA workflow development experience
  • 4+ years of working as a business or technical analyst
  • 2+ years of experience with business applications including: ERP, CRM, and RPA tools
  • Demonstrated experience with software development methodologies
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to communicate relevant details to decision-makers
  • Deep knowledge of RPA tools including: Enfocus Switch and Microsoft Power Automate
  • Working understanding of REST APIs - how to implement and test simple integrations
  • Reporting and data skills including: Crystal Reports, SSRS, SSIS, SQL, and Tableau
  • Willing to work off-hours as needed to support upgrades, testing, and production scheduling limitations
  • Demonstrated experience with source control methods and tools such as Git and Gitlab
  • Software development experience with languages including: Python, NodeJS, and C#
  • Experience with automation platforms such as Ansible is a plus
  • An understanding of design tools such as Adobe InDesign and PDF manipulation would help, but is not critical
