Our team at Lockheed Martin Space is looking for a motivated Research Scientist to join our team working on the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) Mission Data Processing Applications Provider (MDPAP) effort and other Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission processing development efforts.

• As a member of a high-performing team you must be passionate about your trade, focused on mission system quality, and supportive of timely delivery of capabilities.
• You will utilize an applied mathematics or algorithm development background to develop new mission processing applications and work with legacy code utilized in other applications.

This position is in beautiful Boulder, Colorado at our offices which have a collaborative and modern agile workspace.

Typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
- Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency with one or more of the following software languages: Java, C++, C, Python, and Matlab
- Must have strong teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Desired Skills:
- Active secret clearance
- Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution
- Applied mathematics or algorithm development experience
- Experience working with data structures
- Strong experience in software design and development.
- Linux OS background/Experience developing in a Linux environment
- Experience developing maintainable code as well as performing unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Mission Data Processing Experience
- Familiarity with tracking &/or signal processing algorithms
- Experience developing, deploying, and supporting AWS based systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of agile development within a scrum team.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
