Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for Staff Project Manager to support our Missile Defense Solutions operations at our Boulder, CO facilities. The Project Manager will report to the Senior Program Manager in charge of the Advanced Programs portfolio.
What You'll Get to Do:
Lead an exciting IRAD (Internal Research & Development focused on developing and maturing new, software algorithms and derivative products.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop technology road maps, projects and shape future business.
Perform as PM for fledgling, quick turn around programs.
Drive new business opportunities via organic growth and shaping activities.
Work across sectors and divisions to collaborate, identify synergies between programs and capabilities, best practices and future joint pursuits.
The Program Manager will be responsible for supporting the Senior Program Manager in all aspects of cost, schedule and technical performance. PM roles and responsibilities include:
Engage in the preparation of program-related meetings, proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract
Engage in the preparation and execution of daily programmatic activities, as directed
Act as a customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with the customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
Support establishment of milestones and monitors adherence to Integrated Master Plans and Schedules, identifies program problems and recommends solutions
Direct the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, development and administrative areas
Coordinate staff planning and allocation with Functional Management organizations (e.g. Engineering Department)
Support routine status briefings for both Northrop Grumman, Corp and internal/external customers.
Assist in the oversight of the earned value management system (EVMS) process, ensuring that input from CAMs (Control Account Managers) are timely and accurate
Implement and maintain a robust, proactive Risk/Opportunity Management process
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 15+ years, or Master's and 13 years' experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries
2 years of experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manage
2 years of demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal
TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility
Competency in Planning, Scheduling & Earned Value and Proposal Management
Experience with organic program growth: The ability to recognize and respond to customer needs in order to develop additional sales that support organizational objectives.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience across multiple engineering domains.
Preferred Qualifications:
Competency in Capture Management, Communications, Issue & Problem Resolution, Program Growth, Requirements, Risk & Opportunity, Technical Performance, and Customer Intimacy
Proficient in application of principles, concepts, practices, standards, and industry practices as they relate to the Software/Hardware lifecycle
Experience with geographically diverse program teams
Salary Range: 128600 - 192800
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
