Job description



Title : Splunk Business Process Analyst I


Location : Lafayette, CO (hybrid role)


Type : 6 months contract (possible extension or conversion into Full Time)


Pay : $40/hr.



What You'll Do:



  • Analyze where Splunk can be used within our environments. Define, develop, and deliver solutions.

  • Analyze User Problems, Propose Solutions, and implement/assist in implementing those solutions.

  • Provide Level 1 & 2 support for internal Splunk Users.

  • Be the interface between internal Splunk Users and Splunk Account Team.

  • Manage internal Splunk Users Group.

  • Develop internal training programs.

  • Build Knowledge Base of Splunk issues, common searches, etc.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the SBU/SSU and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.



What You'll Need:



  • Bachelor's in Information Technology or a related technical field plus 2 or more years related experience.

  • Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

  • Experience gathered/defined systems requirements, functional specification, and user stories.

  • Proficient with Search Processing Language (SPL) and developing complex, time-efficient searches.

  • Basic SQL skills, able to analyze data from relational database.

  • Service-oriented mindset to meet user's needs.

  • Able to plan, script and execute application enhancements.

  • Able to draw lessons from mistakes or gaps and proactively improve application usage.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills to isolate issues and find the root cause of the problem.

  • The following experience is preferred:



  • 2+ years of consistent Splunk usage/experience

  • Splunk Certified Developer or other Splunk Certifications a plus

  • Linux OS knowledge

  • Scripting Skills in a variety of languages - JavaScript, Python

  • Experience in Agile team environment

  • Possess current Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one

  • Network Monitoring skills

  • Experience with SolarWinds and ServiceNow a plus
