Job Description
Source and interview applicants to explain available positions (primarily technical roles), in the company and to evaluate the applicant's interest, background, experience, skills and qualifications. Depending on position, administers and evaluates various job-related tests. Verifies prior employment and / or education and checks references as appropriate. Refers qualified candidates to hiring manager and counsel's manager on selection of candidate. Coordinates and monitors results from drug screen, background checks and credit reporting. Works with hiring manager to determine starting salaries ensuring internal equity is maintained and in compliance with company policy. Extends job offers accordingly and notifies applicants not selected of status. Assists with coordination and knowledge transfer to other HR staff involved in recruitment. Primarily focuses on more experienced positions / internal postings, but main goal is to ensure all required recruitment deadlines are achieved regardless of position(s) being filled.
Qualifications
Technical Recruiting:
- Interviews applicants for IT positions and evaluates the applicant's interest, background, experience, skills, and qualifications in the Credit Union.
- Primarily focuses on more experienced positions / internal postings, but main goal is to ensure all required recruitment deadlines are achieved.
- Refers qualified candidates to hiring manager.
- Counsels hiring manager on applicant qualifications and addresses concerns hiring manager may have on an applicant's qualifications vs department specific requirements. May assist managers with onboarding new hire to Ent culture and finding ways to explain culture to candidates in a way that resonates with them. This includes coordination of the temporary employment needs of the credit union.
- Coordinates credit reporting, job related testing, drug screening, and background information process as needed. Communicates candidate offer / declinations and candidate offer withdrawals due to adverse information received from any pre-employment test.
- Serves as first point of contact for other positions in Human Resources that assist in initial phone screens, setting up drug testing, reviewing background checks etc.
- Assists current employees with general questions about career pathing / opportunities at Ent. May answer general questions on resume writing, best practices to prepare for an interview, and other general recruitment questions.
- Assists with administration efforts either by newspaper ads or on-line recruitment websites. Ensures most recent version of job description is being posted following Ent hiring authorization / requisition procedures.
- Actively participates in outreach efforts to attract applicants that meet the company's needs for a diversified workforce.
Minimum formal education required for this position:
Knowledge consistent with a bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or equivalent.
Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of "Knowledge Consistent with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and 2+ years' of accounting experience" could be substituted for a High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a Master's Degree in Accounting and 0 years of work experience.
Minimum work experience:
3+ years of recruiting and hiring, preferably in a Corporate setting to include 1+ years of recruiting for highly technical roles.
Technical or specialized knowledge/skills:
- Excellent ability to actively listen, evaluate, and match communication styles with a wide variety of individuals.
- Strong organizational ability, interpersonal skills, discretion, judgment, initiative, and flexibility.
- Comfortable speaking to all levels of management about a wide variety of issues.
- Strong ability to analyze problems and take effective action or make appropriate recommendations.
- Must be able to provide well-thought recommendations & analysis to management regarding candidates for hire.
- Knowledge of candidate selection methods.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act / Americans with Disabilities Act and similar Human Resource laws as they relate to recruiting practices.
- Must be able to work under pressure, handle changing priorities; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge and success in executing a full-cycle recruiting proves.
- Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential assignments and information with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to represent the organization with professionalism and knowledge at job fairs and community outreach events.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for the purpose of going to career fairs or in the pursuit of other job-related duties.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word/Excel/Outlook).
- Basic experience using web-based recruiting technologies and Human Resource Information Systems.
- (Preferred) PHR, SPHR, SHRM CP or similar
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time in a climate-controlled environment. Must be able to use fingers, hands, wrists for repetitive tasks such as typing, using a mouse, handling paper, and operating a telephone. Demands for visual and auditory acuity are typical of an office environment. Must be able to interact via email, telephone, or in person with diplomacy, tact, and courtesy with all candidates under varying circumstances. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. May be required to drive to offsite locations for purposes of career fairs or in the performance of other normal duties.
Salary range for this position: $59,321.60 - $77,854.40 (S15). (This position is eligible for an annual corporate bonus based upon performance)
