About this role
What will you be responsible for?
The Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) serves as the main point of contact for employees and managers, providing mentorship on the people management aspects of the business. Additionally, the HRBP leads the oversight of office facilities management.
The role proactively supports the delivery of HR programs and processes, as well as contributes to global projects to support operations in the region. The HRBP collaborates with site HR teams and the corporate HR team, including all HR Centers of Expertise organizations.
Your role will consist of
Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
* We act as the primary contact for the site in regard to employee relations issues, complaints, and investigations.
* We provide mentorship, coaching, and expertise to people leaders on laws, regulations, policy and procedures, and interpretation of the employee handbook.
* We conduct and facilitate training sessions for the site on HR-related topics including orientation, lunch and learns, and respectful workplace/ethics training.
* We supervise, implement, and run the site's health and substance testing and examination processes - including making recommendations, implementation, and tracking of fit for duty exams. Moreover, we implement the tracking and administration of chain of custody forms - updating and tracking drug certifications, administering and resolving reasonable suspicion; post-accident; random, and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
* We provide support and implementation of Newmont's leave policies and programs including short- and long-term disability, FMLA, bereavement, and other leave types.
* We support, further, and track progress toward corporate, regional, and site diversity and inclusion goals.
* We review and respond to unemployment claims.
* We conduct exit interviews with exiting employees and performs trend analysis and provide recommendations on improvements to reduce turnover and improve employee morale.
* We run, develop, and update regular and ad-hoc reporting as requested or assigned including ethics, turnover, and Beyond the Mine reporting.
* We coordinate site events and participate in special projects as assigned or requested.
* We maintain employee paper and system files.
* We perform other duties as assigned or required and act as a backup for other HR roles on site.

Your Training, Skills & Experiences
Here is what we would need to see from you!
* Bachelor's degree in related field and or equivalent experience required.
* 5+ years of prior HR experience with extensive Employee Relations and HR Generalist/Business Partner experience required.
* Sound computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate clearly across all departments.
* Ability to collaborate with others
Working Conditions & Location
Where you will be located!
* The position will be located in The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site, which is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level. Workers in this position are routinely exposed to conditions at various work sites throughout this range of elevations and must be physically capable of working at this altitude.
* In this role, you can expect to work 10 hours per day, 4 days per workweek: Tuesday thru Friday onsite from 6:00 am-4:30 pm. The company retains the right to change work schedules in the future.
* Weather conditions can and do change frequently and can become severe at times.
* Flexible hours to accommodate global meeting times.
The salary range offered for this role is $83,600 - 109,700. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
