Vault / Cash Room Teller

Starting Rate: $14.00/hr

Principal Function

The Cash Room Teller is a highly trusted position which exists in Centerplate businesses where a significant volume of cash transactions are processed within a compressed period of time, such a sporting or events arena. Typically transferred to the role after gaining experience in Quick Serve operations, the Cashroom Teller will support Centerplate's goal to be #1 in Event Hospitality by upholding standards for handling cash.

Cash Room Teller will perform a variety of operational and accounting functions in support of internal customer service and the safe, accurate and efficient management of the unit's cash assets. The Cashroom Teller will pick up, sort and count of cash, will deliver and retrieve cashier banks, will prepare vault drops and will post transactions to appropriate accounts, as directed by the Cashroom Supervisor and/or Unit Controller.

Location: We are seeking a Vault / Cash Room Teller (Part-time) for the Colorado Convention Center located at th Street in downtown Denver, Colorado.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maximize Centerplate's revenue and operational excellence through proper execution of Centerplate cash handling practices and procedures.
  • Provide outstanding service to internal Centerplate customers.
  • Ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
  • Contribute to goal of making Centerplate #1 in Event Hospitality and the #1 Employer of Choice through personal commitment.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of work experience in a high volume, cash handling experience
  • Ability to count large sums of money.
  • Ability to use calculator, bill counters, and coin counters.
  • Able to identify different commodities
  • 10-key experience
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work with a variety of departments to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to utilize a calculator, change counters and manually count and accurately make change for transactions involving large sums of money.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to work well in a high stress, fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used by guests who typically visit the work location.
  • Technology aptitude for working with POS and digital register.
  • Strong skills for providing guest service with keen ability to connect easily with customers.
  • Must pass a background check

**Accounting (AP/AR/GAAP) Experience a PLUS.

Other requirements include but are not limited to:

Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.

Hours are often extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
