As Controller you will be accountable for formally launching the company's internal finance function. This is an amazing opportunity to operate at a senior level to establish controls, build top notch processes, and to help create a winning culture within a high growth start-up.

The ideal candidate possesses strong communication, technology, analytical, and management

skills. The Controller must come with a proven finance and accounting background including accurate accounting, establishing financial rigor, building business processes, enabling tracking, and driving accounting principles throughout the company. Candidates must possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish financial policies, procedures, and controls to guide financial decisions, protect
  • assets, and maximize the return on financial assets.
  • Leverage financial reporting and monitoring systems to enforce policies, procedures, and
  • internal controls.
  • Schedule, monitor, and confirm the financial condition for the company by conducting
  • regular audits and partnering with external auditors.
  • Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating
  • financial data; and recommending plans.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and
  • initiating corrective actions.
  • Regularly update the status of the company's financial condition by collecting,
  • interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new
  • legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing
  • financial reports, and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Ensure tight operations by establishing preventive maintenance requirements,
  • maintaining equipment inventories, and regularly evaluating and tracking vendor
  • contracts.
  • Transition company financials from QuickBooks to Loan Vision. The ideal candidate
  • must be highly proficient in working with and setting up the Loan Vision platform.
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Expert at developing standards and managing processes.
  • Deep knowledge of auditing, accounting, and corporate finance.
  • Experience developing financial reporting, tracking expenses, and developing budgets.
  • Precise financial skills with deep knowledge and abilities to analyze information and to
  • develop insights.
  • Strong technical understanding of financial software and professional tools including
  • Loan Vision, HubSpot, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and leading sales and
  • operations technology platforms.
  • Polished verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work from home including a quiet, secure, and professional place to
  • conduct meetings and calls.
