Job description

A company with a dedicated team of employees is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for a long-term temporary project. A primary point of contact for all financial issues, the Senior Financial Analyst consultant will handle project spending, planning, forecasting, and annual budgeting. You will also perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments supporting public reporting requirements, and provide decision-making support for future company investments. This Senior Financial Analyst will be placed at the Denver, Colorado office.

What you get to do every day

• Survey financial results, condense key trends, appraise current and future business risks, and relay critical updates to senior leadership in the course of normal preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting
• Power existing management reporting by evaluating financial results, distilling and synthesizing issues, and articulating key updates to senior-level staff
• Team closely with Functional leads by executing management reporting, advising in accounting and compliance, and ensuring operational initiatives are in alignment with each other
• Build advantageous relationships with integral business partners and Finance/Accounting leadership
• Influence the development of repeatable business, operational, and financial processes for all necessary teams
• Assist in other ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests
• Track financial results with greater accuracy and discretion by working with Operating and Accounting to drive improved management reporting
• Optimize business performance by identifying and executing financial analysis
• Financial reporting experience preferred
• Basis costing experience desired
• Experience with External Financial Reports
• International financial reporting standards experience required
• Strong familiarity with Internal Financial Reporting
• Compelling strategy mindset and a track record of interacting successfully with management
• A thorough understanding of office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended
• Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
• Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
• A BA/BS degree in Finance, Business, or related field necessary
• Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
• Skilled at process reengineering and optimization
• Skilled in working cross functionally across teams and gaining favor of key decision makers
