Job description

Division: Brannan Sand + Gravel
Position: Industrial Electrician - Asphalt Manufacturing
Reports To: Production Manager
FLSA Status: Full Time
Location: Various Denver Locations
Position Summary:
In this role, you will manage assigned work orders, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment. You will work with automated equipment and VFD's, computers, AC/DC drives, HMI's and PLCs as you understand and comply with all safety policies, procedures and regulations. You'll need to comprehend and use technical manuals, schematics, blueprints and electrical code specifications and organize and practice good housekeeping of work area, tools, and parts. This will entail maintaining spare parts inventory. In addition, you will plan and oversee testing and calibration of electrical and electronic equipment and tools on a scheduled basis as well as respond to emergency situations as necessary.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Brannan Companies Core Values at the forefront.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Electrical Safety Protocols.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of all major asphalt plant manufacturer's operations.
  • Must have strong knowledge of electrical operation (480 - 3 Phase + controlled voltage wiring).
  • Must be able to read and comprehend electrical blueprints and repair manuals in their entirety.
  • Analyze electrical malfunctions and repairs.
  • Operate and inspect plant to diagnose defects.
  • Must be an advocate of safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in job-site safety meetings and all Company related training.
  • Dismantle and reassemble plant equipment using standard and advanced electrician tools.
  • Repair or replace components within the entire electrical systems of the asphalt, aggregate and ready-mix concrete plants.
  • Inspect, clean and maintain equipment and machinery.
  • Examine electrical parts, motors, and other components for damage and/or excessive wear.
  • Test repaired or replaced equipment to insure operating properly, efficiently and safely.
  • Ability to direct and guide team members engaged in trouble-shooting plant systems.
  • Ability to direct and guide team members assisting with assembly and disassembly of asphalt, aggregate and ready-mix concrete plant systems.
  • Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day.
  • Understand material handling and storage in compliance with SDS sheets.
  • Perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts.

Qualifications:
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends if or when necessary.
  • Report to the assigned job site in proper attire (PPE) and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Demonstrate proper safety compliance for all electrical, MSHA, OSHA and company standards.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures!!
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years or more of industry related experience is required for this position, with an emphasis on Asphalt Plant Operations.
  • This position typically is not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Plant Mechanic.
  • Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.
  • Must be fluent in English, i.e. must be able to speak, read and write English.

Physical Requirements:
  • Standing - 6 to 8 hours daily
  • Walking - 6 to 8 hours daily
  • Bending/Stooping - 6 to 8 hours daily
  • Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping) - 6 to 8 hours daily
  • Lifting (weights up to 100 lbs.) - Occasionally
  • Lift and Carry (50/60 lbs. for 20 feet) - Regularly
  • Push / Pull - 6 to 8 hours daily
Hourly Pay Range: $28.00 - $32.00 DOE
