Provide support to loan officers, underwriters, and closing teams by ensuring the timely, judicious, and accurate processing of mortgages. Review and verify borrowers' income, credit reports, employment histories, property appraisals and title insurance information to prepare loan applications for underwriting submittal. Ensure compliance with company policies, underwriting guidelines and lending-program requirements.

The Basics
  • Review new loan submissions within 72 hours of receipt from the LO/LOA.
  • Verify all required documentation for a credit approval have been provided, analyze income, assets, and credit, anticipate any additional documentation that the underwriter will require.
  • Order (or work with the LOA to have ordered) VOEs, appraisal, title, etc.
  • Submit complete files to underwriting based on investor and AUS requirements.
  • Work with the LO/LOA team to obtain underwriting conditions and submit them back for a clear to close within 24to 48 hours of receiving all the required conditions.
  • Submit a clean file to the closing department, ensuring that all required documents are present, and the system is filled out.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all involved in each step of the process.
  • Experience with Conventional and Government loans.
  • USDA and Bond knowledge a plus.
  • MLO License a plus, but not required.
What You Bring
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years mortgage loan processing experience.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and manage time.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
  • Proficient in DU and LP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dependable, detail oriented, self-motivated, and require minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work from home in a secure location in the home and have internet access.
  • Proficient with all guidelines and websites necessary to complete job functions.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Compensation Details
  • $55,000-$65,000 per year, plus filing bonuses. This is a range that can be reconsidered based upon the expertise of the candidate.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon office or meeting location.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 10 pounds. Vision: Close and distance required with ability to see objects in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen). Speech/Hearing: Frequently interact with management, vendors, coworkers, industry constituents, clients, and the public.
