Job description

The Division of Athletics & Recreation at the University of Denver is currently seeking part-time lifeguard candidates. Ritchie Center Lifeguards are responsible for supervising swimming activities and maintaining a safe environment at El Pomar Natatorium within the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports & Wellness.

Position Summary

Supervise swimming activities at El Pomar Natatorium and ensure policies, guidelines and safety procedures are followed.

These are non-benefited, part-time positions not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

  • Support the division of Athletics and Recreation as a lifeguard during pool operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Provide excellent customer service for all Ritchie Center participants and customers.
  • Recognize and respond effectively and efficiently to emergencies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment within the natatorium and locker rooms.
  • Able to work both individually and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Lifeguard Certification, or willingness to obtain lifeguard certification.
Work Schedule
Part-time, hours will vary.

    The salary grade number is 3.

    Hourly Range
    The hourly range for this position is $14.77 - $16.77.
