Job description

An independently owned, centrally-located, pet supply store is looking for a dog & cat lover to join our staff. We are looking for someone 15-40 hours per week (part or full time possible). We need someone to work weekends- Saturday 10-7:30 and Sunday 12-5:30. The ideal candidates should meet the following requirements:

1. Absolutely love dogs and cats.
2. Have great people skills and the ability to develop customer relationships.
3. Have some background in customer service and/or retail.
4. Have graduated high school or completed GED. Some college preferred.
5. Have strong computer skills, including such programs as Pages and Numbers. We work on Macs.
6. Have cash handling experience, and/or strong math skills (this is a must).
7. Must be able to work weekends and evenings (until 7:30pm)
8. Must be responsible & reliable.
9. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and be on their feet all shift.
10. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of healthy living and/or natural foods.
11. The ideal candidate would have experience volunteering with animals or working with them in some capacity.
12. Ability to make a one year commitment, at least.
13. If candidate has dogs or cats, they would definitely be spayed or neutered.
