The Party Chief represents HCL in the field and will embody a professional image at all times. This role should preserve and enhance our company image through job knowledge and strategic field management. This person will collaborate within a multi-discipline team and accept the role as one of the leaders on the overall completion of a project through communication with Clients, Sub-Contractors and Site Supervisors.

Candidate must be able to work in the US without restriction now or in the future. Local candidate preferred.

• Work primarily in the field on control, construction staking, boundary, topography and other tasks on a one or two person crew.

• Accurately operate survey instruments including total stations, levels, GNSS receivers and survey controllers.

• Perform field survey tasks in accordance with local and state regulations.

• Work without immediate supervision and make technical and procedural decisions for projects assigned within specified limits of authority.

• Produce clear and concise field notes and quality field data for office processing.

• Plan daily activities to meet productivity goals.

• Communicate with the crew and office staff about all aspects of the project.

• Prepare daily time sheets, data logs, expense reports and field change orders.

• Work outdoors in variable weather conditions and challenging terrain.

• Perform some office duties, including data download and reduction, field note reduction, calculations, processing and quality control checks.

• Collaborate with a multi-discipline team and communicate with clients, sub-consultants, site supervisors and contractors.

• Motivation to learn new technology such as Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)

Essential Functions:

• High school diploma required

• Bachelor's or associate's degree in applicable field a plus

• A minimum of four (4) years of experience in surveying with a minimum of two (2) years as a Party Chief required

• Professional Land Surveying license a plus

• Professional experience with Trimble products including TSC7, R6, R8, R10, S7, S8, VX, SX-10, VRS, Trimble Access and TBC required

• Experience in CDOT TMOSS coding a plus

• Valid driver's license is required

• Proven ability to complete all technical aspects of a field surveying task required

• Reputation as a trusted and respected member of the surveying community is required

• Various projects will require that team members pass a drug test

• Good social and communication skills required

• Ability to work long hours and carry heavy loads when needed

• Some travel is required
