Summary of Position

A Window Covering Technology Estimator at Workplace elements is responsible for evaluating, costing, quoting, and providing submittal responses for window covering technology solutions and ensuring product solutions are captured to meet the requirements of project budgets. The Window Covering Estimator is also responsible for disseminating critical information associated with the project to internal project stakeholders, ensuring a successful project outcome.

This ideal candidate will work closely with business development, account management, and leadership to provide award winning proposals to workplace elements client base. This position may include the following characteristics: remote work, contract work, or in office work depending on the ideal candidate.

As part of a dynamic team, this position requires someone who has a strong understanding of the commercial window covering industry, estimating, submittal responses, and window covering technology solutions. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate an acumen for division 12 window covering solutions and the demands of meeting project bid deadlines while providing competitive solutions.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

• Evaluate quote requests, interpret plans and specifications to generate quotes for proposal generation.
• Generate RFI's, meet with project stakeholder (internal & external) to obtain details necessary for quote/proposal generation.
• Provides insight and alternative solutions into design clarifications which are complex in nature: Serves as a subject matter expert on division 12 specifications.
• Strong knowledge of Window treatments (Including draperies, roller shades, hardware, and top treatments).
• Enters requoted shades after final measurements are complete.
• Provides shade key installation template to ensure tagged shades are aligned with window schedule/layout for final installation.
• Liaison between sales and manufacturer window treatment specialist to develop solutions for difficult specifications/installations.
• Reaches out to vendors for costing and consumption; and then follows up to ensure costing is received on time, competitively priced and correctly specified.
• Where applicable - Assists the sales team in the consultative sales approach to help and aide in developing key relationships, including pricing strategies to improve sales close ratios, revenue attainment, divisional goals.
• Ability to generate complete, accurate, and profitable proposals/bid responses/submittals
• Supports Sales on roller shade/window covering technology solutions including but not limited to:
• Firm understanding of motorized and manual roller shade technologies, ability to prioritize tasks and respond to proposal requests in a timely manner.
• Cabling infrastructure to support motorized shading technology. Requires a competent understanding of structured cabling support/hardware, and cabling termination.
• Understanding of LV-Data infrastructure standards
• Understanding of technology best practices

• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
• Communicates system design requirements to the installation team, generates conceptual proposal, and request for information to perform the following: motorized and manual shade submittals and installation requirements.

• Coordination and communication with the installation team and project manager
• Make Sure job documentation is completed.
• Travel to various job sites if required.

Job Type: Can be Part-time or Full-time

Salary Range: $48K-$65K annually

Experience/Requirements:

• Effectively communicate with employees, customers, and colleagues
• Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
• Basic computer knowledge: Microsoft, Proposal Generation Software
• Knowledge of basic signal flow for shade control
• Ability to propose, estimate, and provide submittals for small to large roller shade/window covering projects
• Minimum of 4 years of estimating experience with window coverings preferred
• Formal education in related field preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Preferred External Training:

• Valid Driver's License and clean Motor Vehicle Record
• Ability to successfully pass a background check
• Manufacturer Window Treatment/Roller Shade Training
