Pay Range:
$37.44 - $49.48/hr

The Coding Auditor-Educator is an advanced level position utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10 PCS, and CPT-4 Coding Classification systems who supports the facility and Coding Service Center. Responsible for answering coding and billing questions, onboarding and training new staff, performing coding audits, and development and deployment of coding education. Works in conjunction with the Coding Service Center leadership team in planning and performing coding education and training across the system.
Responsible for performing internal audits and follow up education. Facilitates and promotes standardization of coding practices, monitors and communicates regulatory coding and billing changes for timely and accurate implementation. Participates in short-term and long-term strategic planning with regard to compliant coding and regulatory billing practices.
What You Bring/Job Requirements:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
5 years coding experience in an acute care setting coding all types of hospital visits/admits with a high degree of skill in inpatient and outpatient expertise is required.
2 years' experience in internal auditing and/or coding education; prefer multi-healthcare setting experience
Software/Hardware: Epic and 3M 360 experience required.
Must demonstrate competency of inpatient and outpatient coding and guidelines.
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High School Diploma/GED, required
Associate or Bachelor's degree in HIM, preferred
Current AHIMA credentials (i.e. RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P RCC) or AAPC credential (COC, CIC, CPC, CPC-H) required and maintained.
Physical Requirements- Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
