Position Summary: The HR Generalist assists and supports the Human Resources Manager in the effective implementation and monitoring of all phases of Human Resources programs, policies and procedures, included but not limited to compensation, benefits, payroll, recruiting and onboarding, organizational development, quality and training.

The HR Generalist will directly support payroll, vacation and sick tracking, full-cycle recruiting and placement, onboarding and off-boarding, and tracking and facilitating training and development initiatives. Additional duties include answering questions, working with employees through HR system issues, specific projects as assigned, and other duties as assigned. HR Generalist is expected to fulfill responsibilities in compliance with EEO and Affirmative Action issues, federal and local labor laws and regulations. This person is also responsible for maintaining the personnel records.

This person has the authority to recommend human resource policies and procedures; hire and terminate employees; to counsel employees; and recommend organizational strategies to senior management.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Directs and administers comprehensive employee program to include full-cycle recruiting and placement, onboarding and off-boarding, benefits explanation/open enrollment, payroll and vacation/sick tracking, and training and development programs.
* Responsible for the coordination, implementation and success of the internship program.
* Works in partnership with managers with respect to training and development, including tracking and adherence to goals
* Interprets and explains organization's policies and procedures
* Remains current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive, and technology environments, which may affect the human resource function. Ensures human resource materials are in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
* Planning and coordinating of employee events and recognition
* Active in community events involving the organization and an overall good community steward.

Benefits Administration:

* Coordination of annual open enrollment of benefits programs.
* Assisting employees with questions and/or concerns relating to insurance plan benefits.
* Conducting of "Benefits Orientation" with new employees and/or other employees eligible for benefits.
* Maintenance of HR benefit files in accordance with employment laws.
* Preparation for and response to any and all annual audits related to benefits.

Payroll Administration:

* Preparation, processing, and delivery of biweekly and semi-monthly payroll.
* Maintenance of payroll files and response to payroll-related inquiries.
* Communication with payroll provider to resolve payroll questions and/or changes.
* Tracking of vacation and sick leave benefits.

Employee Recruitment:

* Creation and update of job descriptions.
* Response to phone calls concerning available job opportunities.
* Scheduling of interviews.
* Participate in interviewing of all job candidates.
* Creation and update of interview questions.
* Creation of new employee personnel folders.
* Conducting of new employee orientations and onboarding process.

Personnel Record Maintenance:

* Input of information into HRIS Software and maintenance of HR spreadsheets.
* Troubleshooting HRIS Software system issues.
* Filing of information/forms in personnel files.
* Tracking of performance reviews.

Training Support:

* Maintenance of departmental training plans, tracking of planned and completed training
* Tracking of all required safety and compliance training, work with leaders to ensure completion.

Miscellaneous:

* Performing and tracking of exit interview information.
* Completion of employment verification forms regarding current and past employees.
* Response to reference requests regarding past employees.

Qualifications Required:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources preferred, or 5 years equivalent experience.
* Working knowledge and experience with a variety of HR issues including, recruitment, hiring, onboarding, benefits, training and development.
* Knowledge of Federal, State and local laws pertaining to legal relations/employment law. Knowledge of current human resource practices and methods.
* Intermediate to advanced PC skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and other applicable software, with the ability to learn and adapt to new computer software within 90 days.

* Able to work 40+ hours per week.

Qualifications Desired:

* SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Physical demands: Ability to sit for 3-4 hours at a time, ability to operate standard PC, ability to perform repetitive hand and finger motions, must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations, and ability to handle stress associated with position.
* Work environment: Work is sedentary with frequent periods of walking through the facility. Some traveling may be required to recruit candidates outside of Colorado and to facilitate the HR function at Ohio locations. Hours may be irregular in order to meet the needs of staff members who work non-traditional hours.

Wage Rate: $48,048.00 - $89,232.00
