Tax Manager - All Offices

Dalby, Wendland & Co. is seeking experienced tax manager applicants who are detail oriented and highly motived! Join our rapidly growing firm with endless opportunities in one of our beautiful Western Colorado offices: Montrose, Grand Junction, or Glenwood Springs.

Position Type: Full-Time Salary

Salary: $78,000 - $100,000 / year

Based on experience and location

In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay Act, Compensation Differentials for this position are based on education, experience, training, and geographic location, as well as DWC's seniority and merit systems.

A Day in the Life

A typical day as a Tax Manager Accountant may consist of:

  • Ensures both that (a) clients comply with all applicable authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens, and (b) self and client service teams comply with all Firm policies and professional standards
  • Identifies when research is needed; clearly and concisely frames issues to be researched; and clearly and concisely reports the analysis.
  • Assists with developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing clients' current and future taxes.
  • Develops an in-depth understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding one or more areas of taxation, e.g., individual, corporate, property, sales, corporate, pass-through, state and local, international, expatriate, transfer pricing, credits and incentives, compensation and benefits, accounting methods, R&D tax benefits.
  • Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve the position of clients, the Firm, or Firm personnel, e.g., by reducing taxes or expenses or providing non-tax benefits.
  • Supervises Tax Staff and Senior Tax Staff on all projects
. Requirements:

The Qualifications

What we look for in a Tax Manager Accountant includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
  • MBA in Accounting or Taxation preferred
  • CPA required
  • Eight or more years of public accounting experience
  • Possess a valid driver's license
