The Role at NFP

Work directly with all clients, potential clients, retail agencies, and NFP management team to adequately underwrite-rate-quote-issue program business, develop UW guides, and deliver a sustainable product to NFP and all partners along the entire insurance transaction chain. Strong emphasis on customer service, ensuring that proposals are sent timely, information is gathered, collected, analyzed, and conveyed accurately, and that all functions are executed in accordance with the company's delegated underwriting authority. Work closely with all departments in the organization, including sales (both internal and external agents), claims, servicing, accounting, and IT to ensure all transactions are carried out efficiently and correctly.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  • Work directly with retail agents to promote the success of the program
  • Coordinate with sales and potential clients to customize product and pricing
  • Review and approve client applications
  • Develop customized pricing and provide quotes
  • Provide endorsements on a regular basis
  • Assist sales/conduct product training
  • Review client loss ratio trends
  • Coordinate claims with third party administrators
  • Other duties as assigned such as product development and continual advancement of UW guides

Knowledge, Skills, And/or Abilities
  • Strong communications skills both verbally and written
  • Strongly preferred working knowledge of:
    • MGA Systems (IMS & NETRATE)
    • Hazard HUB or Risk Meter
    • Marshall & Swift
    • ODEN
    • ISO-Net or ISO Familiarity
    • MVR Ordering
    • Any equivalent application or programs related to all of the above
  • Proficient/Familiar in Microsoft Excel/Word/Office
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-directed
  • Strong organizational skills

Supervisory Responsibilities

N/A

Education And/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Risk Management preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in multi-line package underwriting (Workers Compensation not necessary)

Certificates, Licenses, Registration

  • Property & Casualty license must be obtained
  • CPCU preferred
  • CIC preferred
  • ARM preferred
