Job description
Purpose and Scope
Plans and directs the analysis of complex business problems to solve with automated systems. Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost-effective and meet user and business requirements. Acts as the liaison between stakeholders and IT development team, communicating effectively with each group.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Partner with business and technology partners to elicit, analyze, translate functional and non-functional business requirements into technical requirements.
- Support and guide the development of requirements and user stories for features to empower our IT development team.
- Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
- Consult on business systems to detail specifications and/or working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.
- Analyze business operations to understand strengths and weaknesses and determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
- Analyze systems and procedures to refine their formulation and convert them to programmable formats.
- Write or update software specifications.
- Create logical data models based on functional requirements.
- Documents business logic and business rules using appropriate tools.
- Perform quality assurance review of specifications for internal and external delivery.
- Troubleshoot and provide technical support and solutions to users.
- Supports efforts in creating, revising, and/or maintaining requirements- and specifications-related SOPs and guidelines.
- Develop analytical tools for use in the design and redesign of systems.
- Analyze detail systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and reliability characteristics.
- Prepare and update documentation for new or existing systems.
- Monitor system effectiveness in satisfying user needs.
- Attend meetings and participate in projects, as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Broad knowledge of most technical resources to effectively coordinate team members and resources.
- Familiarity with agile development practices and methodologies like SCRUM.
- Experience or knowledge of JIRA is desired.
- ERP experience is desired.
- Skill in effective oral and written communication.
- Strong customer service skills; ability to interact positively and successfully with all levels of the organization to meet business needs.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related field.
- Five or more years' experience in business analyst role.
- GMP, GLP, and GCP experience in the Pharma/Biotech Industry desired.
- ITIL certification desired.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual pay range $95,000 - $105,000

Tolmar compensation programs are focused on equitable, fair pay practices including market-based base pay and a strong benefits package. The final compensation offered may vary from the posted range based on the selected candidates qualifications and experience.
