Job description
The Financial Analyst will serve as a critical team member of the finance group, providing financial/business support to management and business partners. This position's core responsibilities will be to effectively manage Jacobs Vehicle Systems Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Compliance program, the company credit card (PCARD) program and inventory accounting. This will provide a platform for learning core fundamentals of operational finance, as well as provide opportunities for growth and development into a leadership and business partner role at Jacobs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees and enforces all SOX initiatives, which includes testing and compliance procedures
- Responsible for inventory accounting, including, but not limited to, scrap reporting, reconciling perpetual to general ledger, standards review & annual cost roll, reserves and weekly inventory reporting
- Provide support for the company PCARD program, including managing all spend requests and reconciling against charges on monthly statement
- Provide financial leadership to customer value stream teams, including analysis of cost performance vs targets and trends, and reporting results to the Executive Staff
- Prepares routine and non-routine journal entries
- Prepares, analyzes and makes recommendations on account reconciliations
- Prepares and delivers monthly financial/analytical reports of business performance to management in a timely and accurate manner
- Classifies and/or reviews recording of routine to complex accounting transactions
- Identifies accounting problems, researches possible solutions, and forms conclusions to present to the supervisor or other individuals involved
- Assist with key financial analysis to aid in business decisions, budgeting and forecasting, and cost structure analysis
- General duties and responsibilities may change or be assigned at any time to meet current business demands.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning financial information
- Advanced Excel skills
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum 1 year experience in similar role preferred
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment a plus
