Our team leads CVS Health's (Aetna) Federal Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) financial reporting and encompasses gathering, analyzing, and validating large data sets from various financial sources across the enterprise. We're looking for this role to lead in enhancing our data infrastructure and analytics, become our technical leader to enhance and design new analytic tools & processes, turn data into actionable information and lead cross-functional projects within MLR, Actuarial and the business.

Job responsibilities:

* Lead in the gathering and analyzing of data necessary for the MLR filing, including: reviewing and approving data reconciliations by utilizing and maintaining internally developed tools to research and analyze data for reasonableness.
* Automate, maintain and develop internal reports and analysis tools in support of the filing review process by leveraging coding and data management background.
* Help supervise staff and unit priorities to ensure consistent, timely and accurate completion of job responsibilities and meet and exceed department goals.
* Manage projects and processes to meet filing deadlines and internal goals.
* Support audit requests by coordinating responses, becoming a subject matter expert in our process, working with Pricing and Reserving teams, gathering detailed data and aiding in crafting responses.
* Ability to engage immediately and willingness to lead high profile projects with minimal supervision.
* Fast paced, multi-tasking environment with fixed deadlines and limited project plan flexibility

The candidate will have the opportunity to assist in the transformation of Aetna's financial reporting systems through various projects and work within the team.

Required Qualifications

5+ years experience with Relational Databases (SQL Server, MS Access, Netezza, or etc.)

3+ years experience with object-oriented programming (SQL, VBA, or etc.)

1+ years experience with Agile and Waterfall project life cycles.

Preferred Qualifications

* Computer Science, Finance, Data Analysis college majors desired but not required.
* Financial or Actuarial background/acumen/Insurance Business Knowledge desired.
* Thrives in fast paced environments, self-motivated
* Desire to supervise and lead.

Education

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
* Masters degree or MBA preferred
