The Neuro-Surgical ICU is a 17 bed adult in-patient unit caring for critically ill Neuro patients. Our patients have diagnosis of stroke, head or spinal cord trauma and brain hemorrhage. They require nurses specializing in intra-cranial and hemo-dynamic monitoring along with the use of vaso-active medications. We are currently hiring RN'S who are motivated and have advanced critical thinking skills for this rewarding and exciting specialty.

Job Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, the Patient Administrative Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team by providing administrative support and communicating with members of the health care team, patients and families. This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures. Reports to Manager, Patient Unit.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic Mathematics.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Basic computer skills requiredAbility to perform physical effort as specified by position physical requirements and occupational exposure form.

PREFERRED: High School Diploma or EquivalentHospital based or physician office work experience.Demonstrated competencies in a related health field at Hartford HospitalCPR validation may be required within three months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement
